French Operators announce successful experiences from the world's first interconnected RCS trial

The three operators involved in the Market Trial summed up their experiences from the pilot thus far in a short statement: "Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR, are proud to announce that they have successfully launched the world's first RCS interconnected trial. The trial began on May 26th and continued until early July. Around 300 customers were involved in the trial, connected together within groups of various 'tribes' representing a wide range of segments: age groups from 15 to 45, postpaid and prepaid users, Social Network users or not.

The trial's objectives are as follows:

  • Create and test the RCS ecosystem required to prepare for interoperable commercial RCS services
  • Test the consumers' appetite for RCS services
  • Validate the technical end to end architecture and the interconnection solution

This successful launch is another opportunity for Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR to show that French operators have strongly committed to the RCS initiative from the very beginning."
